Something`s Afoot At The WestEnd
Published Friday October 1st, 2004

An Autum Quote

Winter is an etching, spring a watercolor, summer an oil painting and autumn a mosaic of them all.
--Stanley Horowitz

Something`s Afoot Ends October 17th

This play is a musical spoof of the whodunnit genre which takes a strong satirical poke at Agatha Christie murder mysteries as well as at many musical styles of past years. Ten people are stranded in an isolated English country estate during a raging thunderstorm. One by one they are picked off by cleverly fiendish devices. The bodies begin to pile up in the library as the survivors frantically race to discover the identity and motivation of the cunning culprit.

September 10th -  October 17th

Music, Magic & Masks, An Evening For Our Patrons

October 23rd, The WestEnd will host an evening of masks and gift baskets, music and food, magic and wine celebrating our second birthday. Our Patrons are being thanked for their tremendous support!  You will be receiving notices in the near future.

Late Night Catechism Two

With the blessings of the archdiocese, Sister has assembled overhead projectors, mimeographed handouts, felt banners, historical facts and hysterical insights as she conducts her class into convulsions of laughter.

Picking up where she left off in Late Nite Catechism, Sister begins with a confession about the goal of every nun - to get herself into heaven first and then bring along as many of the faithful as possible, thereby securing her own wings and possibly the salvation of countless others.

Now it is up to Sister to save the souls of those assembled - also known as the audience! Beginning with an overview of heaven and hell as a Catholic version of Chutes and Ladders, and moving onto her proclamation of new sins for the new millennium, Sister is never hesitant to tell us where we`ve gone wrong. (Needless to say, excessive tattooing and piercing are right up there with pornographic websites.)

And never doubt that she can provide a list of every celebrity currently sharing digs with the devil.

No one is excused from Sister`s firm belief that `sometimes we feel guilty because we are guilty.` Doors open at 7:15, class begins at 8:00. $25/person!

Don Quixote`s quest for justice, pure and chaste love, and all that is the best in us, is the same quest we all seek as we grow out of our childhood, but too often find is unattainable.
